Lapidary Classes

                                 Members Projects

The Sequoia Gem and Mineral Society offers its members classes in lapidary arts and the use of our Lapidary Shop.  The classes have been moved to Los Altos. The Los Altos Cub (Peninsula Gem & Geology Society) and our club now share the lapidary shop. The lapidary shop is located at 400 University Avenue, Shoup Park, Los Altos. The shop is in the Garden House building in the basement.
Lapidary shop hours:

​Monday: Closed
Tuesday evening:        6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Wednesday evening:  6:45 PM - 9:45 PM
Thursday evening        6:00 PM - 9:00 PM- Instructors Only
Friday:  CLOSED
Saturday morning    9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Sunday: CLOSED

Classes cost $10.00 a class for Members

LAPIDARY CLASS SCHEDULE
December 2024

The Lapidary Shop will be open December 1st. through December 21st. 
Lapidary shop closes December 22nd through January 4th, 2025, and will reopen
​Tuesday, January 7th. 2025.

CALENDAR YEAR 2025
Lapidary Shop Class schedule for 2025
We have 4 class sessions, each 11 weeks. The shop is then closed for two weeks for cleaning, repairs, instructor time off.

Session 1: The week starting Sunday, January 5th through Saturday, March 22nd.
The shop will be closed Sunday March 23rd. through Saturday April 5th.

Session 2: The week starting Sunday April 6th. through Saturday June 21st.
The shop will be closed Sunday June 22nd. through Saturday July 5th.

Session 3: The week starting Sunday July 6th. through Saturday September 2oth.
The shop will be closed Sunday September 21st. through Saturday October 4th.

Session 4: The week starting Sunday October 5th. through Saturday November 22nd.
We will take the next week (November 23rd, through November 29th.) off for Thanksgiving.
We return the week starting November 30th. and classes continues through December 20th.
The shop is closed for two weeks (December 21st. through January 3rd., 2026.).
Classes resume Tuesday January 6th. 2026.
